I don't know if it's because this book is short, but I feel like the beginning is a bit rushed and I'm not understanding anything about the situation. It's not even because it's in English, since I'm fluent in English, but like, out of nowhere a bargain right in the first few chapters, without explaining why Zorya makes the reports or the reason for the multiple stones—kind of confusing, to be honest. Six chapters in and still no explanation about the bargain, or I accidentally skipped some part, which is very unlikely to have happened. Some things have been left unexplained, I'm feeling a lack of world-building, and I wanted to see more of the Hollow Court. And I also wanted to know what Zorya writes so much in this ledger. Some things I even understand are so she doesn't forget.
