ohhhhhh the dialogue with the wolf's head leader turning into a fight. i really like alex. as a writer im obsessed with how the scene went from this dialogue interaction into a very clear memory from alex. and then she STRUCK. she's so kaz coded. i love kaz coded characters and i really like alex. if she has to go there then she will. what a woman

this is what i missed in the king of scars duology, which was by and large a sprawling political intrigue. now THIS is about the CHARACTER. we are in the weeds with alex. this is what i loved about six of crows -- that moment we are in the funeral pyre with kaz, the shipwreck with matthias and nina. this is what compels me!

she didn't know what else to do!!! what else could she do?? of course she fell into the wrong crowd. and how is she supposed to explain to anyone that she can see ghosts :(( how do you convince your own mother that it's the truth. that's horrible.

remembering that the reason why I first fell in love with bardugo is her messy, flawed, earnest characters.

:((( why didn't they tell her!! she's right!!!! why didn't they spare her any mercy and just tell her how to make the ghosts go away when she was younger :((( it's not even that hard.
