Initial thoughts: Honestly, I feel so confused by this book. I'm not sure I've never needed re-read before reviewing more before. I think the biggest issue is that having listened to The Mercenary and the Mortician and Make Me, I was expecting something *very* different. Most obviously, the spice very much takes a back seat in this book to character development and plot. That character development was meaningful tho

The surprising connection between this book and Abby Jimenez's Just for the Summer, which I'm also listening to right now.

This isn't really a criticism, but I have to say it's odd to be over half way through a Silent Hollow book with no more than one make out scene, and even that was fairly late. This book is definitely much higher on plot and tension.

Alina, did you just managed to turn hanging out with A BUNCH OF PUPPIES into something HEARTBREAKING?! And I hate how familiar all of this feels.

Absolutely loving this book so far, although I'm not sure I buy Micah making the realization he just did. It's not like we've seen anything to show that he has an incredible degree of insight.

Gah, first Just for the Summer calls out my bad oral hygiene, then Save Me. Then again, most romance novels do in some manner. No-one falls in love with the person with janky, stained teeth, and even some missing teeth.
