all 4 main characters (including madame chang) are doggedly trying to achieve their aims and no one is having a good time with it. zhu and ouyang at least have each other and can match each other's freak (weirdly) but baoxiang and madame chang just have to dedicate themselves to flaying more and more pieces of themselves in order to make everything they're grasping for worth it in the end.

I've decided I need a whole short story of Zhu & Ooyang snipping at each other

Not that bad but I keep getting bogged down by the multiple POVs I care very little about. Like yeah....Okay I get why The Queen and Baoxiang are important in the long run but I just want to know more about Zhu and Ouyang these other (awful) people who don't have redeeming personality traits or backstories that make them empathetic like these two

Baoxiang why do you exist >_<
