Not really? Okay, King Noah's death I'll grant you (though it could be argued that the prophecy inspired his killers to burn him). But he also mentioned plagues and hail, which have not happened. All that happened is that you'd had a war, which could fit the "people be slain" prophecy, but it's not specific, and you're WINNING so far.

Alma is "receiving many" into the church, and also "being persecuted by all those who did not belong," but they have the king on their side. If anything, shouldn't this be the official religion that everyone is required to join? This isn't the early church or 19th century Mormonism. The authorities are on your side here.

You know, it's ironic that they keep emphasizing how they can't fight back because the Lamanites outnumber them, because the Bible also has a Gideon and this issue is treated very differently there.

I was just thinking that, theologically, the BoM hasn't had anything that wouldn't fit in mainstream Christianity. But some of these verses seem possibly modalist, which is the opposite of the tritheism that people generally have a problem with.

Well, that book was a waste of space on these plates which we keep being told are very small and yet somehow already contain 129 pages' worth of very small print.
