"For once in my life I understood my father perfectly and he understood me."

anyway just kill me yk but this book does in a good way, a really good way

"At graduation you got to collect your teachers' pens and your parents' pens and you got your own pen. And you could do all the writing. Yeah. Wouldn't that be sweet?" for some reason this imagery and the anticipation inside of it was really beautiful to me

Not sam trying to wingman for his son omg..

"Listen, I'm the closest thing you've ever had to a long-term relationship."
"You're depressing the hell out of me, Gina." Lmao

Such a pretty book

This guy loves to gut punch at the end of every chapter huh

'If I switched a letter, my name was Air. I thought it might be a great thing to be the air. I could be something and nothing at the same time. I could be necessary and also invisible. Everyone would need me and no one would be able to see me.'

"I went home and looked up the word 'inscrutable'. [...] That afternoon I learned two new words: 'inscrutable' and 'friend'." ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

This book is so cute?? The short chapters work for it too. Punchy and emotional just the right way. Cake would like this i think maybe if i remember his taste right
