My eyes sink closed, my jaw ticking to keep my emotions in check. Because right now, I want nothing more than to throttle the woman who gave birth to him for leaving him in the hands of a monster.

It’s just that the amount of wealth my family has also comes with drawbacks. People wanting a chunk of it being one, which I’ve learned first hand. But it’s the way it seems to alienate me from the rest of the world, creating a deep-seeded sense of distrust, that I hate the most.
This makes me wonder if this is part of the reason why he hates people. 😢
