Lizzy doesn't seem to want a boyfriend or a partner or even true love. She wants to feel wanted. It's almost as if all her life she learned that "everything she is" (aka a "fat girl") is undesirable, so in order to get others' attention (even from her friends) she acts like she thinks they want her to act. She mimics whoever she's with. Which is so heartbreaking.
I just hope her story isn't just this.

Yes, she's clearly male-centred. Unsurprisingly so, considering that's all she sees around her (from her mom and friends). But is this really the reason she doesn't care about her life?
This topic of growing up as an overweight teenager is already complicated enough, and certainly deserves to be talked about. But I fear this story will be just that and that would be terribly disappointing.
