Why do I always do this to myself? Reading two too similar books at the same time. I just finished the other one, but still this creates an extra layer of difficulty keeping the storylines straight (heh) in my head.

Sure, I can't really know all the possible similarities beforehand, they're just 'happy coincidences' but I might try to consider considering the things that are obvious from the blurb.
