One of the most profound expressions I’ve found in this book, from chapter 47, titled True Dark…and it is, true dark, that is:

“The dark felt total and true—less an open space where no light reached and more a physical object with weight and presence.”

Maybe the hook didn’t set and Wendig is having trouble reeling me in easily.

There’s almost a Jake (The Dark Tower) or Jack (The Talisman) quality to the Oliver trapped in the coal tunnel with weird Eli. I don’t like giving away storyline. Take this as an enticement 😊
