We’re gearing up for the last stand, and it is time.

I am now completely team Fran&Stu. And very worried about the baby.

We’re in Boulder, building a community, and something is seriously wrong with Harold.

Getting acquainted with the Trashcan Man. It is unpleasant.

A first community of survivors is forming, and - dammit - I’m growing fond of several of them. Which means they’ll probably be dead by the end of the book. *sigh*

Still getting to know scattered survivors. In this chapter, 108yo Abigail, resilient and too old to be fazed by any kind of crap anymore.

The dying is still going on, and King is doing everything he can to make it as horrifying and disgusting as possible.
Survivors are emerging, and I find rooting myself for one of them.

Seuche und Militär eskalieren gemeinsam. Die Journalisten sind die letzten Helden. Es ist sehr beklemmend und so eklig, wie man es von einem klassischen King kennt.

I’m trying not to get attached to any of the characters since approx. 99,4% of them will be dead before the eventual plot begins.

Also - major early Covid-19 vibes. Scary and gross af.
