Josiah’s Reviews > Biting for Blood > Status Update

An ignominious final end for us: warding off Jenny and Brian's parents with our powerful raw garlic odor.

The last branch of the initial three-pronged decision. We'll go with Jenny back to her house and maybe speak with Maria Murton.

Another unsatisfying ending, stopping before any real resolution. This book had the potential to be vintage Edward Packard—see Space Vampire in Choose Your Own Adventure—but it's simply and regrettably not.

Well, here we go back to the first decision of the book. We'll check out vampires at the library before taking any steps to prove Eliot Sanger is one.

Shadowing a vampire on the prowl, alone, was as bad an idea as I expected. The blood that Eliot Sanger extracted from me was definitely not Heinz ketchup.

Oh, no...page 57 in a book about vampires? I hope Heinz ketchup is the bloodiest the story gets when we go this way...

This, again, isn't a real ending. Except for the first one we reached, the endings in this book so far haven't been satisfying. I recently read Edward Packard's You Are a Shark from Choose Your Own Adventure, so I know he's capable of better.

What happens if we say no when Mr. Gravesend invites us inside his home for cookies?

Why do so many gamebook stories end before the adventure resolves at all? This is one such bad ending.

Is it better to stay hidden in this coffin?
