Wait…where the hell is their vampire??

You know what? Good for you, Vigga lmao get it where you can, girl

Getting sucked back into this. Every time I leave and come back I’m shook by how fucking good it is! Abercrombie is a master of tension and pacing; they’re both BREAKNECK, but not overwhelming.

"Magic maybe the ultimate expression of man's triumph over nature, but sometimes you've just got to stab a bastard." lmao I love Baptiste. I wish we got more from her POV

Every time I dip back into this book, I’m floored with just how good of a writer Joe Abercrombie is. God DAMN. I hate it took me so long to read him. Endless inspiration for my own writing. Like, I’m SAT

Vigga's POV parts are so hard to read--they're so well-written and heartbreaking. Her internal flashbacks that happen in the middle of the present action are jarring in that they flow a little too well into the scene and when you realize she's in her head, it hurts

“I’ve yet to see a gate to hell turn out well. Makes you wonder why they keep opening the bastards.” Lmao

The chapters from Vigga’s POV are kind of heartbreaking

I may be way off the mark, but I ship Sunny and Alex real bad.

Learning that the elves in this world eat people was NOT on my bingo card. But I’m learning that with Abercrombie, I may need to edit said bingo card lol
