I know I'm not that far into the book yet, but as someone who works in science, the lack of curiosity and confirmation bias that's being displayed is interesting and commonplace, and I think Crichton is making an interesting argument (based on his intro and what I've read) about what profit does to science and scientists. There's a convo about elitism in there somewhere too tbh.

I'm already so intrigued. I have no clue how she didn't get it, but tbh most people wouldn't assume dinosaur because they're extinct.
