At 12/24 chapters here's what I know. The FMC is a people-pleasing masochist who is in denial about her whole life. She's also inappropriately horny which has no addition to the story. And first of all we know something happened with her family because at this point it's been mentioned a minimum of 1 to 2 times per chapter. Say it or don't say it but unnecessary baiting has this sucker teetering on the dnf pile

I find this book has too much attention on details that don't really add to the story. And there's a lot of really good info here but it's really comes across like a bunch of rough drafts that weren't quite connected. And I'm pretty sure there must have been a book before this because there's a lot of stuff here that's taken for granted that I can figure out because it's obvious but shouldn't have to do it

Wow this is going to be a long four books series if it continues with entire passages devoted to something that could have been a sentence. Yeah we get it she's in thrall to the king and it's something bad and mysterious and it's going to change her life. Yeah we get it. Yep. Still get it. Yep yep, still got it. Geez
