Throughout this whole book Georgie has been
such a "go with the flow character." What I mean by this is that he always just goes along with whatever is happening. Whenever someone asks him to do something he usually just does it without question. This character trait leads to completely ridiculous scenarios, which is one of the things that makes this book so good.

"Would you be so kind as to bring Boots down here to stay with me? I will cover all the expenses, naturally, and more than compensate you for your time.
Your friend,
Jim T.

I did not take him up on his offer." (Branford 193)

This is such a great way to end this chapter! It is a coming of age story. Starting with Georgie doing anything that Jim asks of him, to at the end where he finally stands up to him.

The writing in this book is very fast paced. It gets straight to the action and I love it. It's so easy to get hooked and sucked into a chapter, because it grabs your attention right away.

"While he was talking I had decided that I would do something bold. I would pay for this dinner. This would impress Mort, I thought. I bet none of Wendy's previous boyfriends ever offered to pay for dinner." (Bradford 120).
This moment reveals a lot about Georgie as a person. It shows that he feels like he always has to be better than everyone else. I wonder how it will change as the book continues.

Something I've noticed while reading this book is that there are never any reoccurring characters. Characters are in one chapter and then they are never mentioned again. I wonder how different the book would be if certain people appeared more often than just one chapter.
