Yep, the editor definitely fell asleep. "Immediately" is used five times on this single page. It's used at least once on every page starting at 353. That's, what, 13 "immediately" mentions within 8 pages?

"This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," Girl says.
"Yes, it is," Boy says while staring at Girl.

Cue vomit. I am so over this book

Ah, I think we've made it to the part of the book where the editor fell asleep. Missing words here and there, name changes, claiming characters said something when they didn't make a peep. "Griffin's final words," you say? Griffin didn't talk at all in the last scene. It was all Onyx, but sure, Griffin said something too

Who is Gale??? Three people were mentioned--Julian, Manus, and Josiah. Suddenly a Gale pops out of the woodworks, says a line, and then disappears. Never mentioned again. Is this another Eastmund/Eastman situation? Will the real Gale please stand up!

Y'know, the book is centered on elemental users. I was hoping for some Avatar goodness but there is so little mention of their abilities I wonder if they even need them. They could be just regular people instead of "Enhanced" and nothing would change. There's no action in this long winded info dump

So there's been no action whatsoever. I thought with the mention of highly dangerous sea serpents that we would get to see some great fights, see the kids working together. Nope. Still a whole lotta nothing

"Small bursts of flames shot around the room with precise precision." Ah yes, that precise precision is so wonderful. I'd also like to add that the best way to convince adults that you're not a child is by throwing a tantrum... oh wait...

Y'all ever hear of "noosing" an arrow? "Rapidly noose and shoot her arrows." I've heard of "nocking" arrows. Is she going all cowboy and flinging a rope over the arrows? Is she trying to hang them? Noose an arrow... hmm...
