Professional athletes gain their fame by being great at what they do; the Bundy's, Dahmer's and Gacy's of the world gain their infamy the same way. The media turns murder into a marketable entertainment - making sure the victims are forgotten but the perpetrators are not. 'NBK' shows such circus.

Provides a shot of violence each time it's picked up. Great fun! Scenes from the film are recognisable and covered, but fleetingly - bones to construct a larger body of work. The written element allows more of a backstory for characters than the film did, Gales particularly fits Downy Jr's film-Gale really well

Judged this off the back of a handful of reviews which suggested an uninspired novelisation of the film or a flimsy borrowing of its characters, so therefore expected it to be either really bad, but good fun, or just really bad. 20-odd pages in so far and it's doing its own fast-paced, fun thing. Humour in-line with the films - had me laughing on commute 🦂🐍
