I swear, any excuse for naked time this author can get she seizes it - idiot girl is out in the open on the beach where the rapist is running around, and she decided that’s the time for a rousing masturbatory session. Moron.

Rather than steal his skin (out of character) idiot girl has decided to run away to the half-sunken island because she can’t bear to age next to him, though she knows the shaman racist is still running around. Moron.

I should probably say: voyeurism. Also, this writer is inconsistent with her characterization; all of a sudden this sweet idiot girl is tempted to steal his seal skin just because the author mentioned that that was a thing mortal women did given the chance. It feels tacked on.

This girl isn’t just stupid, she’s frigging selfish. She shamans had already paid a bride price for her and her uncle spent it before she decided it was a great idea to screw the selkies and get addicted. Frigging girl; so when they find out she’s ruined they won’t just kill her, they’ll go after her family too.

The motions are rushed and the climaxes are hardly mentioned but for the sake of inducing shock that the guy just keeps going after. Which honestly just makes it seem like a lot of wasted effort; this author has yet to grasp that the important thing is the journey, not the destination.

While sometimes historicals will be enough to do it for me, this really isn’t hot at all. It’s like i want something, i’m reaching for it; the author is decent enough to tease me with it a little, but the follow through isn’t hot at all.

Even though the author flew in the face of tradition and began the historical romance with an orgy and had the girl deflowered within the first 10% of the book, i still wouldn’t call this erotica.

It’s a historical - really something i should have picked up on before i even started reading, and that makes it easier for the author to make the girl a virgin (because apparently it’s impossible for modern girls to be virgins).
