Why am I torturing myself?

Expectations are adjusted. I'm going back in. So far, so good.

Sidenote: The "X minutes left in chapter" is pretty useless when it's not even accurate. I've had two minutes left in this chapter for the last 10 minutes. 🙄

I'm struggling with this one and have been steadily losing interest. It's not that it's poorly written, I just don't get the MC. Eventually there's going to be a romance, I think? But if it's with who I think it's with, boy it there no buildup at all so far except some really weird and out-of-nowhere lusting. And the humor is not working. I feel like the story can't make up its mind what it wants to be.

You know I'm picturing him holding the beer with his feet, right? 😉
