I have lost interest in these characters. The writing is just too jarring and uneven in development of the relationships. Also, the mystery is an ill-fitting addition to the formerly relationship-focused story. Just all around odd mesh attempt that doesn’t succeed.

The sexual tension is all off. I gotta say, I’m not really liking this story. It has odd, jarring plot moves and kinda... awkward sexual development. I mean, they barely know each other and Chris’s sexual interpretations are so different from Jase’s. Just... awkward and odd. Also, repetitive. Which is boring.

This has weirdly and suddenly become a suspense/mystery/people-trafficking novel. I’m still game, because I like the themes, but I am taken aback by the switch from only Jason’s and Chris’s struggles to a huge, larger mystery.
