Finally finished this. I remember why I liked this. Although, I think this deserves a more comprehensive review.

Just passing into the Director section of the book. Named the ship 'Joyau'-- "Jewel". Interesting scene to read while listening to Wintergatan @ Debaser Strand 13-09-13. Arriving at a nickle-iron asteroid for a christening might be something jam out to. But, it was more distracting then Swan Lake or something a little more background-ish.

"Dynamics of Information Handling in a Closed Envionment".
Certainly, a good thesis for a ship Captian.Even if that ship is physical or metaphorical. In a casual conversation, that would seem cold. Not considerate.
Meeting Nynca Desoll came off like the normal sibling/relative bickering and chirping. In the end this chapter seemed unusually dense with hidden meaning as Van definately seemed unsettled, but curious.

From Ion Nets to Hyper-Modern architecture. L.E. seems to breath life into a world at an organic pace. Even if the tech isnt the MOST advanced, it is still up there. In situ resource utilization, environmental integration. Both good topics. But, still too small. This feel will be hard to beat, but maybe someone can copy it in a more developed series.

L.E. really is doing a good job at introducing new people and places. The strangeness of the architecture is good.
SPECS:trapezoid shaped Farkaan orbital station around the moon of that gas giant, outside of the "habitable zone". Emits no artificial radiation and is thus, "invisible".
That last bit just doesnt seem useful. If they found a way to let light seem to pass through their station. Yea usefully invisible.

Van has to make a decision. Can he make it? Will he choose something different? Honestly, if he makes the choice he wants, who is to say it's wrong. He went through all his bases himself. Very carefully and aggressively cautious. However, this time he reflects on it after informing his parents. Even pressures them to correct his thoroughness. Let's see if he can take this leap of faith.

Reading L.E. has been a real treat. He continues to hold up now and even with the rise of AI, his work will survive well into the future.

Honesty, I've been considering various aspects of "The Ethos Effect" for quite sometime now. It's too big and complex a problem to even communicate parts to most people, let alone have a civil discussion, private or public. Look at Yellow Journalism, apathy of the masses, flexible academic standards depending on the discipline and now information is so "easy" to access to list just a few issues.

L.E. refuses to disappoint with good homecoming experiences. Still the "Mag" transport doesn't fully reveal if it is some weird transport or just a train for a tethered orbital station out there in geo. But, then Van arrives home and he brings in "The Ethos Effect" in the best way possible.

Finally! They've introduced Trystin! I didnt read Parafaith War as a kid, so this turn caught me completely off guard. But, it was enthralling. To some degree I've always wanted to see other book series do this, but others have just followed 1 main character. B.V. Larson could do it for his undying mercenary series and it would make a 1 dimensional McGill into a character amongst other personalities.
