Judith took her time in the shower, trying to come back into her body. It was hard. She felt all shaky and out of it, like she was outlined in pencil instead of inked solidly. Like she was barely there and might wash away with the water. Usually when she felt like this, what she really needed was pain. Sharp, rhythmic pain, like a caning. It brought her back into the moment, into her body, put her feet on the ground.
