Dressers are for China and belong in kitchens or dining rooms. Nightstands are bedside tables and pants are worn under your trousers. Am I being picky? Oh yes. The author is a Brit and lives in Wales so why is she writing American English? That felt good... I haven’t had a bloody good moan for ages.

Awkward purple prose and a host of issues, some general, most my own made this a nope for me.

What? This is making no sense... Words and actions are diametrically opposed.

That is some very dodgy reasoning and an unkind way to behave too. It’s a contrived, clumsy plot device that doesn’t make sense in relation to Issac’s character so far. Beware the drama llama.

Wait a damn minute, Iz! You haven’t seen him in over a year and the last time you did he hurled homophobic abuse at you and fucked with your head. Now you’re inviting him for coffee? Punch him in the nads. I won’t mind.

Language is a funny thing isn’t it. 😁Dressers are usually referred to as a chest of drawers here. China cabinets are usually glass fronted or all glass to show off the best bits of China. We have sideboards, sometimes credenza if it’s antique in the dining room usually for storage of everyday China, cutlery etc. I think in the US they are sometimes referred to as a hutch? I’m usually more forgiving if the author is from the country of the spelling used however Brit authors having Brit characters use American English gets my goat for some reason. Both characters and the setting is here. I wish I could blame it on lockdown. I can’t, I’m just a mardy cow at times. 🤣
