Zero Year has been an incredible chore to get through. I'm usually okay with Snyder being dialogue heavy because he writes it so well, but much of this character dialogue feels like an after-school special. I mean the characters just go on and on, even Batman. After Court of Owls and Death of The Family, it's been a huge blow to momentum at this point.

Scott Snyder’s voice he brings to the world of Batman fits right at home and gives a gritty and twisted darkness to Gotham that’s always been there but feels fresh and alive. The Court of Owls was a crazy new spoke to add to the wheel, and what he’s doing with the Joker is appropriately insane. It’s chilling. Capullo’s artwork also feels to be an extension of Spawn into Gotham. Shady, jagged and raw.
