the way you understand the French quote in a book and grow kinda proud and angry at the same time; proud bc you understood it at all but angry bc you dont REALLY know french, right? you know enough to understand a quote but can you SPEAK it? can you COMMUNICATE? do you catch NUANCES? no, ofc you dont, bc you’re useless
