I find it really interesting that mainstream feminist discourse be like "No slut-shaming. Be promiscuous! Yay hook-up culture!" then you dip into the romance genre, which is pure female wish fulfillment, and you see how women actually feel about slutty behavior.

I WAS sort of digging this book....but of course, there always has to be some silly FAR too invested in her appearance and FAR too thirsty woman for the male lead to compare to the demure JUST FEMININE ENOUGH main character. I swear romance novels are like a live-action performance of women working out their internal madonna-whore conflict
