I've been told it's super OTT (which I know it's K. Webster's style already), so I'm just gonna imagine it as a Riverdale/Gossip Girl episode and not take it too seriously 🤣

Did you see my rating? 😂 I didn’t review but the OTT drama killed it for me apparently. I really liked Wicked Lies Boys Tell though by same author.

I haven’t read this one but I’ve found her mm’s to be as bat shit crazy as her mf’s. Which is not always a bad thing. Basically she is a mood and I know what I’m getting into when I pick one of hers up. 🤣

I— did not see your rating 😭 you have me even more worried now!! I have a pretty high tolerance for OTT drama, but that's as long as the MCs don't exhibit a distinctive lack of brain cells or gratuitous cruelty. Plus miscommunication, my eternal foe. Tell me those don't show up... please 🤕

I got Hood Rat as a freebie but it's just languishing on my kindle TBR since I heard all her books are way over the top and that's what killed it for me.

I liked Hale (I love taboo though so what's new), but was disappointed by The Wild and This is War, Baby. I also read Give Me Yesterday and was bored. Now that you said it, however, I'm pretty sure it was a mood thing 🤔 have you read any of the above by any chance, Leslie?

I read like three chapters and then fell asleep for about six hours 🥴 but damn, the OTT came out in full swing already. I wanna see where the romance goes tho.

Well, this is not worrying at all then 😅 I plan to read that one down the line too, so I didn't open the spoiler, but the family drama is a huge pet peeve of mine when it takes too much page-time and becomes too convoluted... so currently bracing myself for that.

Other than that, my toletance level for over the top can he considerable. I'm blaming it on growing up watching telenovelas 🤣

I forgot to update that one here after reading it but I LOVED it too! Kinda wish it was a full book, because the author hasn't written anything that messed up before and she nailed it. And your review was absolutely to blame for me giving it a go! Your dark themes reviews are my favorite ones 😍😍

Which by the way I read straight after first reading your review. You were persuasive lol. Talking about getting better books though... just read your latest take! I totally get why you DNF-ed. @Ayanna, no I didn't actually! If anyone asks for my opinion, I'll just link your review instead 😂 And flopland is a great term, I think it really encompasses about 80% of our reading experience currently.
