I went from disliking it to really liking it to now hating Roan's guts. It's been a trip. I like Hollis and his friend group tho.

I love that trope but I only like the bullying between MCs (don't analyze this too much) + there has to be good grovel. Plus, this happened after the MCs kissed and had an entire moment so it felt even worse.

Spoil away. I kinda hoped she was paired off with Jordy so double let down for me (he kinda expressed he had a crush on Sidney early on and I thought that was his one redeeming quality).

Jordy's book is with Roax and im partial to a best friend's brother romance so i liked that one. but with Sidney... brace yourself😭 (view spoiler)[Sidney ends up with Marco? Gio? the guy in their group who is crushing on her. they get married after high school and have a kid together... only for the kid to NOT be Gio/Marco/that guy but... Roan's lol😭 but she didnt tell him and he didnt know until he sees the kid one day and he's like "the fuck??" and obvs wants to be involved in the kids life. but Sidney and Gio/Marco/that guy wont let him... until they both perish in a house fire and die. :)))) while the kid survives, so naturally Roan takes the kid in being the bio dad and Roan and Hollis adopt and raise the baby. So far the melodrama is high in this book but that puts it all to SHAME. It sounds straight out of a shitty soap opera, I— yah, I'm gonna pretend this is a standalone. Did you like any of the other books, at least? Or was this the best one?

And Roan can still turn it around since I'm barely past the halfway point, but he better grovel and start standing up for Hollis. The fact that he isn't even the one doing the bullying is setting me off lol.

the drama of each book continues to escalate😭😭 this book is definitely the best in my opinion mainly bcos they’re my fave couple and the... the drama is probably at a minimum in this book🤡 sooooo, do with that info what you will.

Soooo, I'm guessing he never truly stands up for Hollis when it comes to his friends, then? HAHAHAHA *deranged laughter loop* I hate it. And the fact that he isn't even the one doing the actual bullying... yikes. If he was the one throwing Hollis off a bridge I could reconsider my stance. But it was not the case!!

I'm finally getting some of my groove back... but I'm too lazy to format reviews still lol. I recommend trying something really out there and kind of shocking. Even if you dislike it, it might snap you into enjoying other books more.

I'll need it. Sucks because I was kinda vibing with the romance before, OTT and all.

I loved this book but that was one of the things that pissed me off. No matter their history or connection, he fucking threw him off a bridge and he almost died. Even if he had been able to swim, he still *threw him off a bridge* like tf?? i wanted him to end their friendship right then and there, not forgive him so easily *sigh*

EXACTLY! Or at least show the friend asking for forgiveness too and expressing some kind of regret. The guy acted like he would do it again in a heartbeat... the fuck?! 😅 and yes, Roan saved him, but Hollis still could've died. I'm warming up to Roan again now, but still waiting for some kind of big gesture or moment to make up for the bridge thing. Otherwise I just can't love him all the way.
