I am sorry I am halfway through. This book is excellent. This book should have been read first. I read Echoes of a Distant Summer first. LeRoi King Tremain is quite a character. He can go from being a cold blooded killer to being very kind and compassionate. I see why his family members in the second book distanced themselves from him.

I read Echos of a Distant Summer before I knew this one existed. I love that book. This is pretty good also.
