Second try at this, after putting it down 6 months ago.
Past the meet-cute (saying this with the utmost sarcasm, as NOTHING R.L. Smith writes could ever be described as ‘cute’). And…and…and…I dont want this book to end. I feel like there’s a blade dropping closer and closer to falling and I can’t tell if I’m terrified or damned excited to see it happen.

Awesome! And yes…she is. Have you read it before?
funny story. i read almost 70% of TLHOG and then stopped (this was years ago). but i have read another book by R.LeeSmith and really enjoyed it. i've been wanting to restart and actually finish TLHOG for a long time now. hopefully second time is a charm!!
Ohhhh okay. Yeah the first 20% was a struggle for me to get into and it took me a couple tries to get through it. I’m now rereading it bc it’s the kind of book that just…gosh. So good and so awful (in a slow motion car crash) kind of way. But what stands out more is just what an OG Meoraq is and how much he sacrificed for Amber.
we love to see a hero who sacrifices everything for his heroine!!
