There's just some special spark missing here. Farm life is boring AF and while I like (sometimes) using the alien-miscommunication trope, this book has taken it to new (annoying) levels. She's been with them for a month, and she can't figure out more than a few words?!

Meh? Heroine doesn’t have any real redeemable qualities that keep me reading. She’s supposed to be a hacker-computer whiz but, uh…apart from touching two wires together to make them go “spark” (hello i can do this on accident) I’m not seeing anything else about her that intrigues. Ranove wants her in spite of his hate for humankind. Neither character are jumping off the page for me.
