I have a feeling this is going to suffer through its massive reputation. So far I am feeling pretty ambivalent.

Hmmm ... telepathic, feline serial killer. Okee doke.

I am back to the book, I restarted it again, and this time, finally, it seems to have pulled me in, and I am liking it, but how many Murakami's do we ignore from our own shores because they don't come preapproved from some far away shore? I know a few personally. It makes me sad.

I'm pausing for a while. It just isn't grabbing me.

Lori I'm so glad I read both this and Wind-Up before I ever knew GR existed, I thought I had "discovered" him on my own, ha! I also know most people analyze and probe these books, but I just went with the flow, letting the surreal take me away. Oh so different than my English major days! And yet, for me at least, a much more enjoyable read. It's always tough to read a book, or see a movie, with such high expectations, try to let all that go.
