"this book focuses on [...] heterosexual relationships between cisgender men and women"
"I do not discuss asexual and aromantic identities or orientations , although some asexual people’s emphasis on plural affective bonds can be seen as a type of polyamory"
A bit research and maybe building in quotes could've had helped this, esp. because he writes about deconstructing monocentrism. More intersectionality!

Ok, so far this book is absolute bs but it has reached new levels:
"An intriguing hybrid relational path entails the simultaneous relationships (or even marriage) with both physical person(s) and subtle beings that are nonphysical (e.g., imaginal, virtual, or spiritual)."
Yes, it is discussing being nonmonogamous with nonphysical entities near the end as "we can't leave this out of the conversation". The heck???

"To this end, I document and critically examine two pairs of interlocked psychosocial attitudes—monopride/polyphobia and polypride/monophobia"
Monophobia. lol. What's next, heterophobia?
I hope this book will be better than the introducion promises, I'm not deep into it but already not convinced by how the author is phrasing a few things.

There's something deeply troubling and insidious about writing a book on polyamory and not including LGBQT+ relationships despite the fact that queer people are the biggest influence in shaping new relationships beyond hetero-cis-patriarchal norms.

I will write a raging review for this book anyway, it has so many flaws I want to talk about, but leaving out LGBTQ+ relationships here was one of the biggest ones. It seemed throughout the whole book, that he did not really know what's going on in the actual community.
