Well, the trial section was surprisingly funny, but mostly the book has been set-up thus far.

More than halfway done now. Thus far an enjoyable read. Best aspects are the side-characters and humor (which I gather are more prominent in Dickens’s other works which bodes well for me enjoying other works even more). Taking a slight break from it over the weekend but will hopefully finish it next week.

Tim is starting
I’ve been saying for years now that I needed to start reading Dickens as all I’ve read of his work prior was A Christmas Carol and some of his short stories. Time to finally start one of his novels. We’ll see how this goes. :)

Jason Pierce How do you like Jerry Cruncher?

Tim He’s only been in a handful of scenes, but I loved the set up with him early on and the scene where he keeps telling his wife to stop praying was both a nice slight touch of comedy and insight into the character.

Jason Pierce Yeah. He's a minor character, and not exactly an upstanding citizen by any stretch, but he kills me. "There you go, a-floppin' agin. I won't have you prayin' agin' me and my honest tradesman ways, woman!"
