I wonder if anyone, ever has read McGonagall's poem on the evils of drinking and become convinced to give up the "demon drink"?

You shouldn't rush a poetry book, not least one like this. It would spoil the inadvertent silliness of the poems to read too many in one go.

Whenever I am feeling down,
I read McGonnagall and I cannot frown,
He was the greatest poet of Dundee town,
And his rhymes were impeccable though the lines often don't scan very well but he were no clown!
