Short form essays on ordinary women from Medieval India. Need a lot of Indian history context for this one. Looking up timelines on Wikipedia, as well as side quests of understanding tenets of Jainism and Hinduism infinitely enhances the reading experience. Terrific prose. On a more vain note, the book is super cute. I love how it feels in my hand. Sometimes I just open it to a random page and look out the window.
