"What do ye mean ye do no' ken?" It's bad enough a non-Scottish author is attempting to write a spoken Scottish accent. It's super annoying the main character thinks like this. At times it's hard to understand., so the author had either done it poorly or has overdone it.

"Inghinn, said suddenly as she tied off the stitches and cut the thread with her sgian dubh." (Has to be a knife of some kind, but the unusual name just complicates the reading.
"Do no' fash yerself o'er it." (fash in this instance means fret)
Ha'e = have
ken = know? "Who is she?" "I do no' ken"
Reading this is giving me a headache to sort out the Scottish accent. And I'm on page 51. Only another 306 to go. :(
