"Do no' fash yerself o'er it." (fash in this instance means fret)

ken = know? "Who is she?" "I do no' ken"
Reading this is giving me a headache to sort out the Scottish accent. And I'm on page 51. Only another 306 to go. :(

"What do ye mean ye do no' ken?" It's bad enough a non-Scottish author is attempting to write a spoken Scottish accent. It's super annoying the main character thinks like this. At times it's hard to understand., so the author had either done it poorly or has overdone it.
