Status Update

Digeratess is 60% done

Started Part 2, and it's like a different author wrote this. It's so much better than Part 1. Best line so far, "Help me get dressed. I have 47 tasks ahead of me, and none of them should be attempted without pants."

Also I have no idea what % I'm at because the greediest audiobook company on the planet can't make an audiobook player as functional as the one I use for free with the library.

I just heard a reference to GK Chesterson's quip, "The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese." So many allusions to some of my favorites. I wonder if High King Dresden is an allusion to Harry Dresden?

Digeratess is 86% done

Loving this more with every minute. Steve West is SO GOOD at voices, and this book is giving him the chance to show off more than any other book of his I've heard. Puts me in mind of James Marsters and Dresden Files.

A matronly knitter who is also the head of the assassins guild just appeared, AND she's knitting with yellow yarn! <3

Digeratess is 75% done

I have noticed several allusions to other works, but the best so far is to Vogon poetry. Probably giving this book 5 stars for that.

I cant get over how much better part 2 is.

Digeratess is 45% done

Original thoughts to words ratio is extremely low. I FINALLY just read something interesting in Chapter 6. I seriously wish I'd just skipped straight there because nothing has been said that I'm sure won't be said again ten times.

Also, this book is in competition with Book Friends for most annoying sidekick.
