The number of questionable things is rising.

- dog keeps on peeing inside. It’s a guide dog. Makes no sense it wouldn’t be housebroken.
- playing with a guide dog “on the job”.
- the number of “mean girls” and douchey guys is over the top.

Did he just question her ability to do something because shes blind!? The hero has been pretty good until now but this is disappointing!

Being told “we take care of our own” directly after you’ve been hurt pretty badly by “their own” shouldn’t feel comforting.

So, if you’re not “our own”, they don’t take care of you?

This book’s treatment of someone who is visually impaired is bizarre.

Everyone around her (except the hero) is thoughtless and torments her. She moved away from her family cause they tortured her (literally) but the new community also contains people who torture her, move her furniture around, or place her stuff randomly because “I thought she was just being OCD by asking for things to be a certain way”.

Uh. There’s a difference between a bully and a murderer. Usually a mean girl doesn’t try to kill her victim. So much drama!

Cutting a bully down is fine. But not her partner. That’s just mean.

Kristina Ugh! The guide dog program is extremely rigorous! I used to socialize future guide dog puppies for Guide Dogs Ontario, those dogs cost over $10k by the time they are done training. There is no way they’d not be house trained. Ugh I’m offended on their behalf. 😖

Elizabeth It’s absurd. The “guide dog” bites things and pees inside. There’s no way. Any trainee that showed these tendencies wouldn’t become a guide dog. It’s just ridiculous.

Kristina Exactly!! Guide dogs for the blind or Service dogs for the disabled are unshakable but if they play with them when they are working they probably ruined all their training. 😂
