A lot of internal monolog and info dumps, but mostly fun and exciting.

Some of the world building details are possibly too complex, it seems like a combination of foreshadowing and setting up context for future stories that the author will probably just over-explain when it comes up again.

Good character development.

Lightyears better plot and writing compared to the author’s YA series. The the subtly informal language balances the formality of the high fantasy style and brings a bit of humanity.
