Idfk, y’all. For whatever reason, I reeeeally want this story to work for me but I’m struggling. For sure, part of the problem is the audio – I would be better off to let Feyre’s literal voice be the product of my imagination. I just realized this is the same narrator from another audiobook I read, and disliked, earlier this year so I doubt that is helping. I need to quit fiction ABs, but dammit.

Not me hoping for Feyre’s death by 25% and the rest of the series spent between Tamlin and someone I can stand.

Rhosyo MT The last third of the book was my favorite part

Moony Eliver Noted! I've seen that sentiment from several people, that this volume gets stronger as it progresses. I just need to switch to the ebook.

Rhosyo MT good luck!

Dani If it's any consolation it took me two years to get past the first three chapters, but I ended up loving books 2 and 3!

Oh wow, that is some persistence! 😅 I'm not giving up. Just on the audio. I'm going to pause reading until my hold comes through on the ebook from my library, but it shouldn't be too long.

Thank you 🤗

Annery I wish you luck. I've become way less patient than I used to be.

Lou I do feel like it's sooooo important to know which audiobook readers you hate as well as which ones you like, because I've also had the "wow I didn't enjoy this WHOOPS this is a reader I didn't like before" experience

Thanks and SAME. I have no idea why I'm giving this one so much rope. I think fomo is involved.

It's so true! I didn't realize the impact it was having on me, that unconscious correlation. I didn't like that other book anyway, but with this narrator, I really don't like the way she does the voices, the dialogue. It makes me hate the characters and it's not reflective of my feelings about the actual story, the way it would be if I were eye reading.

Gabi My all time fave. I'm rooting for you!
I'd say ditch the audio, I've heard bits and pieces of it and absolutely hated it.

I'm so curious what you think. Lot of people did not like book 1 but loved book 2. Do it for book 2!😅

You have no idea how much this helps. OK, kicking the ab to the curb. Will continue via ebook soonest!
