I done for the night. I gave it a good go though. Yay! Abbie’s toxic parent issues are still front and centre, and it’s just too much toxic parent BS for me. Abbie’s cute and all, but she’s also a complete noodle. Let’s see how I feel tomorrow.

It’s cute but it doesn’t have the Laylah Roberts magic. Still hating the toxic parent.

Why do so many authors feel the need to write such toxic parents into their characters’ back stories. It’s even worse when the parents are front and centre shaming, belittling, and breaking down the character. There are better ways of showing bad parenting without them being so toxic. But hey, soldiering on. Go me.

This might fizzle fast since I just realised when I added this one to my currently reading that I DNFed another book by the same author. I guess I’d forgotten I hadn’t enjoyed the other book. Cross your fingers for me.
