still not a huge fan of the book. but if we are mostly world building in this first one, i can understand it. and besides, it gets progressively better.

this is an incredibly difficult book to get into. i can follow it, yes, but i just don't feel very engaged. the characters are not really fleshed out, and while the writing styles make sense for the characters, they are really abrasive. i really hope it gets better.
