Escucho ahora la radio y me doy cuenta de que ninguna canción termina: de inmediato hay otra y otra más, todas inconclusas, y cada tanto una Sherezade idiota diciendo que es lindo (si, lindo, dicen) lo que acabamos de escuchar. :D

Impressed that you're reading up on music in Spanish! Have you been a strong reader in Spanish already, or is this all part of a sort of dual personal training program in both Spanish and music?

I am reading it as Spanish practice more than anything; the musical content is more the subject of an experimental literary style than anything theoretical. It's quite hard to explain actually but it's a series of tiny little anecdotes, both fictional and fact, that are all interwoven quite ingeniously in a kind of fugal tapestry. I've previously read it in English but it's quite poetic at times and begs to be read in its native tongue.
I need to get my Spanish, which has deteriorated somewhat due to neglect, back to a reasonable level as we'll be travelling to Colombia to visit the in-laws later this year. In the past, I would pick books purely for their difficulty (usually at about an early intermediate level) but my lack of interest in the subject matter along with the cerebral fatigue (😂) from the natural difficulties of translation would too often place me into a deep slumber! So, I'm changing tact and only reading things I'm interested in, even if it's at a slightly higher difficulty. I think (hope!) it'll be effective. :)
