Escucho ahora la radio y me doy cuenta de que ninguna canción termina: de inmediato hay otra y otra más, todas inconclusas, y cada tanto una Sherezade idiota diciendo que es lindo (si, lindo, dicen) lo que acabamos de escuchar. :D

Las pausas entre cada variación no son un asunto menor, como no lo es en verdad ninguna pausa, y eso es algo que Glenn Gould sabe mejor que nadie.

Ohh, what a shame, Ilse! He was quite good and there was an excellent all-female Consortium of Viol players who played some lovely Baroque works (all new to me).I found, occasionally in some of the faster variations, it became a little bit muddied with possibly a slightly heavy left hand and liberal use of the pedal. But I also feel absolutely ridiculous making any critique whatsoever on a complete runthrough of the Goldbergs which seems to defy the limits of human ability in and of itself!
What I was disappointed to find, as I only grabbed a program on the way out 😅), is that he was doing a 20min talk in the main foyer after the show which I missed! 😭
But to be fair I did have to get up at 4.30 for work!
ps last week I found out I missed his concert in Brussels, October last year...
