So far in this book it talks about the biggest legend in surfing Gerry Lopez. He writes about his life growing up and becoming the best surfer ever to surf pipeline. He has perfect style on big waves and he is so fun to watch. He has a tough childhood which he leads to a amazing surfing career. Growing up he went to the beach every day and surfed everyday. He didn't surf pipeline till he was 19 years old.

If I could interview anyone in my book I would interview Gerry Lopez. I would ask him how surfing was like in the mid 1900s compared to the surfing now. In reply I would think that he would say the level of surfing now is better than earlier, but there were a lot less surfers and they rode longboards back in the day and now people ride shortboards.

The main idea of this part of the story is that Gerry Lopez goes on a surf trip to Indonesia. When he went there no one else knew that the waves were good so him and his friend shared the best waves of there lives with no one else out. This was one of his most special and most fun times he has ever had. He ended up staying there for two months and having the time of his life.
