I am starting to feel that the writer tries to do too much, causing the plot to wander. Philosophical musings and heavy metal in the midst of a disappeared girl...where is this plot headed? I think we need some editing here so the plot can move forward, instead of meandering.

Different threads change off to build suspense. Old trick but it works. Still this is not the one I reach for first. Other reviewers indicate that disparate threads will come together, which makes sense, so I will keep reading.
