Interesting that the Weasleys and Potters never met while they were all in the Order during the first war. I can’t recall if the author ever mentions the Order as having operated as isolated cells, which might explain that.

The abuse plot starts to unravel way earlier in the series than I remembered. Very glad, since this is one of the aspects I remember liking most about these books.

I don’t remember if this point gets brought up much in later books that deal explicitly with Harry’s childhood being abusive, but I REALLY hope it does. “No, my childhood wasn’t all bad because [tangental arguable benefit]” is the most typical abused-kid reaction there is.

If I remember right, during the time this was written the prevailing fanon was that Molly and Arthur hadn't been in the Order, just peripheral to it by virtue of Molly's brothers being in. They'd have had young children at that point in time so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that they didn't really get properly involved until Harry's time
